Artist Copies - Paul Willoughby

Artist Copies:

Planning:

First Copy

For this pattern, I decided to stick with the used of a head and I found a silhouette online. I then also looked for images of stars and used the vector mask tool to make the stars the same shape as the head. I then duplicated the head and inverted it to make it white and blue. I then copied these image making sure  that the white heads were behind the black ones. I removed the white background from this which then left me with a grey background. I then used define pattern to create my pattern, and used the pattern stamp tool to print my pattern.

Second Copy

Here I started with the image of a ballet dancer and removed the white background.

After doing this I duplicated the dancer, flipped it round and filled her in black.

After doing this I decided to repeat the dancer and make it into a vertical pattern.

As I was creating this pattern I decided to change the dancer into a block white rather than seeing the detail.

I then made a red background and copied the pattern using the pattern stamp tool. Over this I then inputted the text 'I never see you  lose yourself,' which was used on the original pattern. To make the pattern stand out I also dropped the opacity.
